3 Day Itinerary

(geared towards the intermediate rider)

Day 1: Two Rides from Old Town

Start your morning out by grabbing a warm beverage and a bite to eat at Atticus Coffee and Teahouse, located on lower Main Street.

From there, venture to the Rail Trail and bike along the path till you reach the Skid Row trail. Head up Skid Row .8 miles to Lost Prospector. This trail offers spectacular views of the Main Street / Old Town area. Continue on Lost Prospector for 3.7 miles, crossing Aerie Dr. to Gamble Oak. Take Gambel Oak trail for 1 mile till it forks at the top, from there take Masonic and lower Masonic down to Main Street.

Enjoy lunch and a cool beverage on an outdoor patio on Main Street. Some local favorites are No Name Saloon for a bison burger or a Chop House salad at Butcher’s Chop House & Bar. On Sundays, check out the crafts and live music at the Park Silly Market on lower Main Street.

Ready for another ride? Ride over to Park City Mountain Village and take Jenni’s trail from the base. The first 1.4 miles is uphill bike traffic only. At the interchange, continue on Jenni’s for another 3.2 miles which lands you in a nice bowl area to take in the beautiful views of the area. From here, take one of the numerous trails back down to town or continue up to Shadow Lake via Tommy’s Two Step (1.4 miles), Three Candles (.7 miles) and Keystone (1.7 miles). The views up here are spectacular!

Return to the base of Park City Mountain and check out the mini amusement park, complete with alpine slide, alpine coaster, zip line, and more.

Day 2: AM exploring PM riding

Enjoy a hearty Australian breakfast at Harvest or Five5eeds. Then check out some of the art galleries and boutiques on Main Street – don’t miss the works by Banksy. Or, want something more active? Hire one of the local outfitters to take you fly fishing, road biking, hiking or horseback riding.

For the mountain bike ride, drive, ride or bus to the Silver Star lift area (Park City Mountain). From here, take the Armstrong trail up 2.3 miles. You will see spectacular views of the foliage and get to see what a ski resort looks like during the summer. Once at the top of Armstrong, head south (left) on Mid-mountain trail to connect with the Pinecone Ridge trail. The climbing is pretty steady for 3.9 miles. Once you reach the ridge, you are at 9,800 feet. Enjoy a break and marvel at surrounding mountain tops – it’s beautiful!

After your ride is over, enjoy dinner or happy hour at Silver Star Café (base of Silver Star lift). Several nights throughout the week, there are live music performances on the outdoor patio.

Day 3: Eastside Riding

Head to the Kamas Valley to enjoy the mountain bike riding, the views of the Wasatch Mountain Range and lunch at the High Star Ranch. It’s about a 20-minute drive from Park City, off of SR-32 in Kamas, Utah. The trailhead is just north of the High Star Ranch. The area has a good variety of terrain from flowy berms to technical rock gardens with over 20 miles of trails and 3,000 vertical feet of climbing. While there, don’t miss ARTique, a locally owned art gallery and gift shop chock full of one-of-a-kind treasures.
